Arsenal Fall to PSG on Penalties in UCL Final

PSG became back-to-back European champions as Arsenal's long wait for a first title went on.

The 2026 UEFA final ended level at 1-1 after 120 minutes, and PSG coming through 4-3 on penalties to go back-to-back, a result that fans across Nigeria reacted to in their numbers.

Kai Havertz handed Arsenal an early lead after six minutes, but Ousmane Dembele levelled from the penalty spot on 65 minutes, before the final stayed level through extra time until penalties settled it.

By retaining the title, PSG confirmed themselves as back-to-back Champions League winners, a feat not many sides manage, secured by Luis Enrique.

In Nigeria, the final trended heavily, with hashtags and names like "Congratulations to PSG", "#PSGARS", Mbappe, Vitinha and Dembele mixing with plenty of Gunners reaction by disappointed fans.
